Spain so well known for its bullfights is also a popular destination in the Mediterranean Europe. It has a lot of natural resources in the form of fabulous beach lines, meadows etc. Madrid is the Capital of Spain and is actually a happening city. Apart from Madrid, there are nine more cities that make Spain. They are Barcelona, Bilbao, Cadiz, Cordoba, Granada, San Sebastian, Santander, Valencia.
Madrid, the Capital is in the central part of Spain. Major tourist sites of Puerta del Sol, Plaza Mayor, Palacio Real and Plaza de Colón are in Madrid.
Museo del Prado, Reina Sofía National Museum and Art Centre, Thyssen-Bornemisza Museum of Art are museums that are situated in Madrid, and have a collections of numerous artifacts. Atocha RENFE, which is very interesting for being a station for trains and a manmade jungle to harbor turtles. El Retiro just as the name suggests, when the tiring day takes the life out of you, this is the place which will come to rescue with its natural beauty.
Hippies playing bongos are a common view on Sundays. La Casa de Campo, the park used to belong to the Royals. But today much of it has been taken away in public interest. Barcelona is the second largest city of Spain. It is rich in its heritage and history. The Gaudi Architecture out here is the most famous. Park Guell which is a hill that is overlooking Barcelona, gives you the most eye catching views of the city .The structures here in this park are typically Gaudi. La Pedrera is another place to see. Sagrada Família is tower that gives lays a feast to the eyes when you climb the top. La Rambla is the most famous avenue in Barcelona. The Montjuic Hill houses the Olympic village and the Olympic Stadium and is worth more than one look. The Tibidabo is a must see for its famous legend between Jesus Christa and the Devil himself. This place is in the mountains and offers a fantastic view again while ascending. FC Barcelona a must for all football lovers. This is one of the most happening football clubs. Poble Espanyol is a sample village with imitations of the life style in Spain. Monasterio Pedralbes, which is a Gothic monastery, is again a popular destination.
Other destinations are Andorra, Béjar, El Arenosillo The rocket lunch pad Mazagón, Huelva, Jerez de la Frontera, which is where sherry wine is made. La Rioja found its essence for dinosaur tracks. Peñiscola, Rías Baixas are the other destinations out here.
Now that we are done with sightseeing, it comes to food. The Spanish food is primarily of lot of veggies and meat. Tapa is a starter that one must try out here. It is said that it is tradition to have a tapa followed by a drink, then go another bar and repeat the same, and go on until you are done.
